  • Joe Pavia Retires from Driving

Joe Pavia Jr. had a driving accident on 6/27/16 in 12th race at Pocono Downs. The totter he was driving was on the front end and made a break just before the 1/4 pole as Joe attempted to take the horse off the course to the inside, as there was a horse outside of him, the horse jumped the pylon and lunged back toward the track.  The horse behind his horse managed to miss him but the horse sitting 3rd hooked Joe’s outside wheel and catapulting him to the ground injuring his neck, hip and a slight concussion. After X-Rays and an MRI Joe was treated in the emergency room and released.  After an examination the next day and test results gone over the doctor made a recommendation that Joe retire from driving due to the multiple concussions sustained in his racing career. Joe has 17 horses in training and he will now concentrate on training a public stable both in Pennsylvania and Florida.

********ARODASI WINS 5 OF LAST 6 STARTS*********

The hard hitting race mare Arodasi is in top form as she recorded her 5th win in her last 6 starts. She won her 2nd consecutive race at Tioga Downs in the open mares pace going for $14,000 in 150:4. This pushes her 2015 earnings to $56,605 and her lifetime earnings to $340,016…….

The stable in the last 2 weeks has been racing very well. As of 8/16/15 we have had 27 starts with 7 WINS and $57,547 in earnings. As I have said before racing is like any sport or athlete you have peaks and valleys. No one more than myself wish that it was all peaks and we could win whenever we want to but that is not realistic. Post position, classification and racing luck all factors in the end result. And that is all factors if your horse is healthy and sharp which is the hardest part of racing or any sport keeping your players sharp and healthy!!

ARODASI: TALK ABOUT A HORSE BEING SHARP!!! She was a WINNER at Tioga Downs in the open mares pace going for $14,000 on Friday night winning her 2nd in a row there and 5 wins in her last 6 starts with her usual off the pace tactics. She recorded her 8th win of 2015 with a150:4 mile to seal the deal. We will enter her back in to race at Tioga as she has run out of condition options at the moment since she has $33,380 made in her last 5 starts. It is Tioga Downs last week of racing so we will once again hope to spot her where she fits well…..
